How To Grow Azalea Plant From Cuttings, Step by step simple guid

Azalea plant can be propagated in two ways, By
Seeds and by Cuttings, but for beginners cuttings propagation will be the best
way, cause it’s easy to grow Azalea Plant by cuttings, so here is the simple
steps to grow Azalea Plant From Cuttings.

 1. Select the plant to take a Cuttings- The plant you are taking a cutting from should be
well grown up and healthy plant.

 2. Select the stem to take a cutting.

Select the healthy stem to take a cutting, the stem
should be softwood or semi hardwood cuttings with 3 to 4 inch long an should
have some leaves on it, Remember Use clean and sharp cutter or scissor to take
a cutting, if you have all this take a clean cut. 

 3. Rooting hormone.

After taking cuttings remove some leaves from the
bottom and leave some leaves on the top, Now dips into the root hormone powder,
as it will help to stimulate the root growth.

 4. Planting it.

Use a container or pot have at least 2 to 3
drainage hole fill with well drained potting mix or you can use normal river
sand to grow it, Now makes a hole in the centre of the potting mix and plant
it.

 

5. Watering it- After
planting, when you water it for the first-time water it thoroughly till the
water drained out from the bottom of the pot, from next check the top Inch soil
before watering, stick your finger into the top inch soil if its dry water it,
if it is not then don’t.

 

6. Right place to keep plant- Place it in indirect sunlight in bright light
location till it grows well.

 

7. Times take to grow up- Usually it takes 3 to 4 weeks to establish the
roots, If you see the new growth or the Cuttings are still healthy till 3 to 4
weeks it is the sign that the plant has rooted, wait for another some days to
establish the roots and grows well before transplanting it.

 

8. Transplanting it- After the cuttings have
rooted with a healthy growth you can repot it to the larger pot, use a well-draining
potting mix and add some compost to grow it.
